Information

Appointment

In many Practices, including our own, patient demand has increased significantly meaning patients have found it difficult to get an appointment with a GP. So, with the help of a new scheme, we’re taking action to put this right.

Our phone lines are open from 8.30am till 1.00pm Mon- Fri and 3.30pm till 6.30 (Mon/Tues/Wed/Fri) Thursday 8.30 – 12.00.

The new system involves changes to how we work and will mean for patients:

Just call on the day at 8.30am that you are available to book an appointment for that day. There is also pre bookable appointments which are available for the following week. Also you can book online, just ask the receptionist for your online access log in details, we will need ID as well.

Telephone consultations

Telephone consultation can be made when available for over the phone consultations, blood results, scan results etc.

Please help us to help you by passing on your correct telephone contact details to the Reception staff and making sure you’re available for the call back from the doctor. The receptionist will also ask for some brief information about the reason for your contact.

Please cooperate wherever able so we can help you as promptly and safely as possible. If your request is not for a doctor, please call mid-morning when the phone lines are often quieter.

Urgent Appointment

If you have an urgent problem that you feel needs to be seen the same day, then please if possible, telephone in advance for an appointment rather than just turn up at the start of surgery. If the surgeries are fully booked, we may be able to give you a time either before or at the end of surgery or offer you a telephone consultation, to avoid you having a long wait.

You can book to see a particular GP, though you may have to wait longer.

Obtain A Home Visit

Home visits are usually reserved for housebound patients as our doctors typically see four patients in the practice in the time it takes to do a single home visit.  For this reason, we ask our patients to come to the practice if at all possible. Please ring before 10.30am to request a visit and let us know if your condition is urgent

Obtain A Sick Note

If you have been absent from work for five working days or more then you will need to see a doctor to obtain a sick note. If the period you have been absent is five days or less then you can complete a self-certification form and give this to your employer, this will cover your absent from work. The form can be downloaded using the link below:
